Aussie Hootchie

Aussie version of the British Basha.

This is the traditional and original hootchie that was designed for the Australian military and makes a versatile shelter, sleeping bag cover or emergency carrying sheet. 6 reinforced loops along each long side, 5 along the ridge, eyelets at corners. Poppers along each long side so you can join 2 hootchies together to make a bigger shelter if necessary. 

Jellybean Auscam camo. 290cm  x 185cm, fully waterproof nylon. Weight 575grams.

Put up your hootchie between trees or other stationary objects with 7mm Purlon along the apex and tie down with 3mm Purlon and pegs. In windy or wet conditions peg right down the side of the hootchie facing the prevailing weather to give more protection. Can be used with a sleep mat and bag on the ground or higher off the ground with a hammock, as favoured by Ray Mears.
